Joyce Jonathan mourns death of father Philippe Jonathan

French singer Joyce Jonathan announced that her father, Philippe Jonathan, died on 29 July 2026. The family placed an obituary in the 1 August edition of Le Monde, describing him as “a free man, an inspired architect and a keen connoisseur of China.”

Joyce had recently spent a sunny holiday in the Luberon with her six‑year‑old daughter Ghjulia, where she also met former teenage acquaintance Gabriel Attal. She said the loss deeply affects her and her family, who remember Philippe for his architectural work and love of travel.
