Joyce Maxine Keith passes away at age 97

Joyce Maxine Keith (Boon) (Horne) passed away peacefully at Menno Home in Abbotsford, British Columbia, on October 24, 2026, at the age of 97.

Throughout her career, Keith served as a Postmaster for nearly 30 years, working in various British Columbia communities including Hatzic, Mica Creek, Sorrento, Westbank, Harrison Hot Springs, Hope, Fort Langley, and Mission. Following her retirement from Canada Post, she worked as a counsellor at a women’s shelter on Salt Spring Island and managed a low-income housing complex in Langford on Vancouver Island.

She is survived by two daughters, several grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren. In accordance with her wishes, donations may be made to local food banks in lieu of flowers.
