JP Nadda meets with Reservation Hatao Andolan activists

Union Minister JP Nadda held discussions with representatives of the Reservation Hatao Andolan (RHA) following a protest held at Jantar Mantar on August 21. Nadda described the meeting with team members Harsh Dubey, Ran Bahadur Singh Chauhan, and Mrityunjay Pathak as ‘cordial’ and indicated that further meetings will be scheduled soon.

The RHA group is advocating for reforms to the existing caste-based reservation system, proposing that economic criteria should take precedence over caste in determining eligibility for government support. While the meeting was characterized as a positive step toward dialogue by RHA member Harsh Dubey, the government has not yet released specific details regarding the meeting's venue or the exact outcomes of the discussion.

The engagement has drawn scrutiny from political entities, including the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), both of which have requested clarity on the government’s official stance regarding the protesters' demands for a policy review.
