JPMorgan reports $50 billion in crypto asset inflows since start of year

JPMorgan analysts estimate that approximately $50 billion has flowed into the crypto asset market since the beginning of the year. This represents an annualized pace of roughly $66 billion, an increase from the $52 billion annual rate estimated in May, though it remains about half of the levels seen in the previous year.

The total inflow calculation includes spot ETF flows, CME futures positions, crypto startup fundraising, and activities from listed mining companies and institutional buyers. The data suggests a shift in momentum from corporate treasury holdings toward individual and institutional investors.

While ETF flows saw outflows in May and June, they have turned positive since August. Additionally, institutional positions for Bitcoin and Ether futures on the CME have increased over the last two months. Despite this growth, analysts warn of risks, noting that leverage remains above historical averages and mining companies have net sold approximately $1.8 billion in assets.
