JR Hokkaido names new Chitose Line station ‘F Village Station’

JR Hokkaido and Kitahiroshima City have announced that the new station under construction on the Chitose Line will be named ‘F Village Station’ (F-VILLAGE).

The station is being built adjacent to the Hokkaido Ballpark F Village. The name was proposed by Kitahiroshima City, drawing from citizen suggestions and the name of the city’s urban park, to create a landmark that serves as a source of local pride. JR Hokkaido accepted the proposal, noting that the name will enhance convenience for visitors and increase the value of the surrounding area.

Located between Uenopporo and Kitahiroshima stations, the new station has been assigned the station number H06-1. While the official opening date has not yet been announced, JR Hokkaido has released construction footage on its official YouTube channel and plans to work with the city to develop the area as a regional hub.
