JR West to end Umiyamamusubi sightseeing train service
JR West has announced that the sightseeing train ‘Umiyamamusubi’ will cease operations in December 2026. The wrapped train, which has operated in the Kinosaki Onsen and Toyooka areas since July 2019, is scheduled to be retired due to upcoming periodic vehicle inspections.
To commemorate the service, a special ‘Last Run Tour’ will be held on December 6 and 7, 2026. The tour will include round trips between Toyooka and Hamasaka stations. An optional experience allowing passengers to participate in the cleaning of the train will also be available on the second day.
Tickets for the special tours are scheduled to go on sale starting November 2, 2026, via the ‘tabiwa Travel’ website.
