JRA racing: Shogo Yasuda hits 200 wins as Lemaire leads rankings
The final week of September saw significant milestones in Japanese horse racing. Trainer Shogo Yasuda achieved his 200th career JRA victory, notably securing a G1 win with Puro Magic in the Sprinters Stakes. This achievement mirrors his father, former trainer Takayuki Yasuda, though Shogo reached the G1 milestone earlier.
In the jockey rankings, Christophe Lemaire ended September in the lead with 117 wins, holding a one-win advantage over Mirai Iwata. Akihide Tsumura demonstrated strong performance at Nakayama, recording an 80 percent place rate over the weekend. Additionally, the period highlighted the rise of younger jockeys, including Shin Saito, who reached 300 career wins.
In the trainer standings, Sugiyama Haru stable maintains the top position with 51 wins, followed by stable leaders such as Yachigami and Saito Makoto.
