Jörg Kachelmann criticizes Jan Hofer over new teleshopping role

Meteorologist and presenter Jörg Kachelmann has publicly criticized former colleague Jan Hofer following the announcement of Hofer’s new role at the shopping channel HSE. Hofer, the former long-time anchor of the German news program ‘Tagesschau’, will be selling his own fashion collection via live commerce.

Kachelmann expressed his disapproval on the social media platform X, referring to Hofer as a ‘slimy colleague’ and making disparaging remarks regarding Hofer’s physical stature and his desire to remain in front of the camera.

The two presenters share a long professional history, having co-hosted the talk show ‘Riverboat’ from 1997 to 2004. This is not the first instance of public friction between the two, as Kachelmann has previously directed criticism toward Hofer.
