Jérémy Jacquet faces injury doubt ahead of Liverpool-Manchester City clash
Liverpool defender Jérémy Jacquet is facing a fitness uncertainty following a hamstring injury sustained during international duty. The French Football Federation confirmed the 21-year-old suffered a “strain to his left hamstring” prior to France’s UEFA Nations League match against Belgium.
France manager Zinedine Zidane described the injury as “slight” and noted that the player was sidelined to prevent further damage. The setback comes after Jacquet’s successful debut appearances for the French national team, where he played full matches against Italy and Belgium.
Liverpool faces potential selection issues ahead of their upcoming Premier League match against Manchester City. In addition to Jacquet, the club has concerns regarding the fitness of Cody Gakpo, who is dealing with an ankle issue, and Alexander Isak, who was sent home from international duty with a minor thigh problem.
