JSW Group undergoes restructuring and cement capacity expansion
The Competition Commission of India has approved an internal restructuring of the JSW Group. The plan involves the amalgamation of BMM Ispat Limited into JSW Steel Limited. Currently, JSW Projects Limited holds a 58.47% equity stake in BMM. The restructuring aims to consolidate the group’s majority interest into full ownership to enhance operational, financial, and organizational efficiencies through resource pooling and economies of scale.
Separately, JSW Cement has commissioned an additional 1.00 MTPA cement grinding unit at its Nagaur plant in Rajasthan. This expansion increases the company’s total cement grinding capacity to 25.10 MTPA. The new unit is intended to meet rising demand in Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab, and the National Capital Region. The Nagaur plant has also implemented an Alternate Fuel Handling System and a Waste Heat Recovery system to reduce production costs.
