JSW Motors to launch Jetour T2 plug‑in hybrid SUV in India this Diwali

JSW Motors, in partnership with Chinese automaker Chery, will introduce the Jetour T2 plug‑in hybrid SUV to the Indian market around the 2026 Diwali festive season. The vehicle will be assembled at JSW's new greenfield plant in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, Maharashtra, and will be offered as a five‑seat model.

The T2 combines a 1.5‑litreduction turbo GDi petrol engine with dual electric motors and a 26.7 kWh LFP battery, delivering a combined output of 381 bhp and 610 Nm of torque. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7 seconds, reach a top speed of 197 km/h, and offers an electric‑only range of 139 km (NEDC) and a total driving range exceeding 1,000 km. Charging takes less than four hours on AC and about 30 minutes to reach 80 % on DC fast‑charge.

Pricing is expected to fall between ₹35 lakh and ₹45 lakh (ex‑showroom), positioning the Jetour T2 against premium SUVs such as the Mahindra XUV 7XO, Tata Safari, Skoda Kodiaq, Jeep Meridian and Volkswagen Tayron. The SUV will feature a 15.6‑inch touchscreen, digital instrument cluster, advanced driver‑assist systems, and a suite of safety equipment including multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, lane‑keeping assist and autonomous emergency braking.
