JT Brubaker becomes the only San Francisco Giants player entering free agency
Following the conclusion of the 2026 Major League Baseball season, right-handed reliever JT Brubaker has officially become a free agent. Brubaker is the only player from the San Francisco Giants with an expiring contract entering this offseason.
During the 2026 season, Brubaker appeared in 41 games, pitching 60.1 innings primarily out of the bullpen. He recorded a 3.58 ERA and a 1.24 WHIP. His pitching repertoire included a sinker, slider, changeup, curveball, and four-seam fastball. Brubaker previously underwent Tommy John surgery in April 2023, which contributed to his transition from a starter to a reliever.
The Giants finished the season with a 65-97 record and missed the playoffs. The team's front office, led by President of Baseball Operations Buster Posey, faces decisions regarding the pitching staff and bullpen consistency heading into the offseason.
