BP BUMN reports BULOG rice absorption and clarifies cooperative manager status

The Indonesian State-Owned Enterprises Regulation Agency (BP BUMN) has highlighted several key developments regarding national food security and cooperative management. Perum BULOG has been commended for its performance in maintaining national food security, having absorbed over 3.9 million tons of rice equivalent—approximately 99 percent of its 4 million ton target. This absorption, consisting of 7.7 million tons of harvested paddy and 35.8 thousand tons of rice, aims to provide market certainty for farmers and strengthen government rice reserves.

Separately, Dony Oskaria, Head of BP BUMN, clarified the employment status of managers for the Merah Putih Village/Sub-district Cooperatives (KDKMP) and Merah Putih Fishing Villages (KNMP). He stated that these managers are not BUMN employees, despite a two-year assignment under PT Agrinas Pangan Nusantara (Persero) and PT Agrinas Jaladri Nusantara (Persero). The managers will undergo a two-year coaching period, with all associated costs covered by the government.
