JTB Inbound Trip and ThinkAR to deploy AI smart glasses for Japan tourism

JTB Inbound Trip (JIT) and ThinkAR Japan have signed a basic agreement to implement AI wearable solutions within Japan’s tourism and hospitality sectors. The partnership aims to utilize ThinkAR’s ‘AiLENS V1’ AI smart glasses to support multilingual communication and operational tasks for staff.

The AiLENS V1 glasses connect with smartphones to display real-time translations and AI assistant information directly onto the user's field of vision. This hands-free technology is intended to allow staff at hotels, tourist information centers, transportation hubs, and event venues to assist international travelers without breaking eye contact or relying heavily on handheld devices.

The collaboration will focus on conducting field demonstrations to verify effectiveness in areas such as check-in processes, reservation confirmations, and local sightseeing guidance. Following these trials, the companies plan to develop a scalable service model to standardize service quality and improve operational efficiency across various tourism-related facilities.
