JTB reports travel trends for Japan's Silver Week holidays

JTB has released travel trend data for the upcoming 2026 Silver Week holiday period, which includes a five-day consecutive break from September 19 to September 23.

According to booking data for domestic individual travel, the most popular destinations are the Kanto, Kansai, and Chubu regions. In the Kanto and Kansai areas, travel is largely driven by visits to theme parks. In the Chubu region, demand is supported by the Tokai area, specifically Aichi Prefecture, and the Hokuriku region, including the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route. Additionally, Hokkaido and Okinawa continue to see strong demand for long-distance travel.
