Jual Oram calls for legal action against suspended aide in arms seizure case

Union Tribal Affairs Minister Jual Oram has stated that his former aide, suspended BJP youth leader Prakash Paswan, must face legal consequences if found guilty in connection with an arms seizure at the Panposh Circuit House in Rourkela.

Paswan, a member of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha, was suspended by the Odisha BJP following allegations of misconduct. Police investigations revealed that Paswan had reportedly booked rooms at the high-security government guest house for individuals who were later arrested. During a raid on August 14, authorities seized four firearms, 11 live rounds, and magazines, arresting seven men with criminal records.

Oram emphasized the need for a “fair and transparent inquiry,” asserting that “the law must apply equally to everyone.” The Minister also addressed claims of misinformation, warning against the deliberate spread of propaganda and conspiracy against him.
