Juan Bolívar Díaz presents memoirs in Madrid

Ambassador Juan Bolívar Díaz Santana presented his memoirs, titled ‘Con las riendas tensas’, at Casa de América in Madrid. The book explores his personal and professional journey, linking his experiences to significant political, social, and journalistic events in the Dominican Republic over the last fifty years.

The event was organized by the Embassy of the Dominican Republic in Spain, the Bernarda Jiménez Foundation, and the Dominican Foundation to Prevent Youth Violence (Fundo). Attendees included members of the Dominican community and representatives from the cultural, business, and diplomatic sectors.

During the presentation, Pedro Álvarez Pastor, president of the Bernarda Jiménez Foundation, noted that understanding Dominican history would be difficult without the author, describing him as an essential participant and witness to the country's most significant recent events. The work covers Díaz Santana's diverse career in journalism, politics, academia, civil society, and diplomacy.
