Juan Camilo ‘Cucho’ Hernández suffers muscle injury

Colombian forward Juan Camilo ‘Cucho’ Hernández will be sidelined for several weeks following a muscle injury sustained during Real Betis’s recent match against FC Barcelona. The club confirmed on Monday that the player suffered damage to the proximal soleus of his left leg.

While Real Betis has not provided an official recovery timeline, media estimates suggest the striker could be out of competition for between three and six weeks. The injury occurred during the match on Saturday, October 17, when Hernández was substituted in the second half.

The injury poses a significant challenge for the Colombian national team. Hernández’s recovery timeline may prevent his selection by coach Néstor Lorenzo for upcoming November fixtures against Chile, scheduled for November 13 in Cali and November 17 in Santiago.
