Juan Carlos Ferrero releases new book and discusses coaching future

Former world number one and tennis coach Juan Carlos Ferrero has released a new book titled ‘Winning Mental, Beyond Motivation, Practicing the Habit of Discipline’. In the book, Ferrero reflects on his professional career, including his 2003 US Open semifinal against Andre Agassi, and his recent success coaching Carlos Alcaraz to the top of the ATP rankings.

Ferrero noted the difficulty of finding another player with Alcaraz’s unique qualities. Regarding his future in coaching, Ferrero stated he is not currently under contract with any player and is focusing on other projects, including his academy. While he remains open to returning to the ATP tour, potentially as early as 2027, he emphasized that he will only accept a role that is truly exciting.

Speculation regarding a potential collaboration with Jannik Sinner has been addressed by Ferrero. He noted that while his heart would lean toward Alcaraz, the statistics favor Sinner. He clarified that working with Sinner would be a professional challenge and would not be motivated by any personal agenda or rivalry.
