Juan Carlos Vacca Castillo, alias ‘Dimax’, captured in Medellín

Colombian authorities have captured Juan Carlos Vacca Castillo, known as alias ‘Dimax’, in Medellín. Vacca Castillo, identified as a leader of the ‘Los Dimax’ criminal structure, was apprehended following his expulsion from Panama, where he had served a four-year sentence for money laundering under a false identity.

In Colombia, Vacca Castillo faces a sentence of 500 months (approximately 41 years) for aggravated homicide and aggravated conspiracy to commit a crime. Investigations reveal that he allegedly attempted to evade his sentence by impersonating a relative and using fraudulent documents regarding his ethnic identity. This deception was used to secure a judicial authorization to transfer him from a prison in Cali to an indigenous harmonization center in Florida, Valle del Cauca.

Authorities believe he abandoned the center to continue evading justice. The capture was a coordinated effort involving the Directorate of Criminal Investigation and Interpol (Dijín), the Police Intelligence Directorate (Dipol), Migración Colombia, and security agencies from the United States. Law enforcement also links his criminal organization to the network of the extradited drug trafficker alias ‘Boliqueso’.
