Juan Fernando Quintero suffers muscle injury at Independiente Medellín

Deportivo Independiente Medellín has officially confirmed that midfielder Juan Fernando Quintero has sustained a muscle injury in his left rectus femoris. The injury occurred during a match against Jaguares, where Quintero was forced to leave the pitch after playing only 41 minutes.

While the club has not provided a specific timeline for his return, stating that his recovery will depend on his clinical evolution, initial estimates suggest he could be sidelined for approximately one month. This injury disrupts Quintero's recent rhythm, as he had only played six matches this semester since leaving River Plate. The absence of the midfielder may force coach Amaranto Perea to manage the squad without one of its key players for several upcoming matches in the Liga BetPlay 2026-II.
