Juan Gabriel concert film to premiere in U.S. theaters

A remastered and newly edited version of the iconic concert film ‘Juan Gabriel: Mi Primer Bellas Artes’ is set to release in United States theaters on September 15, 2026. Produced by Sony Music Vision and distributed by Fathom Entertainment, the film captures the late Mexican singer’s historic 1990 performances at the Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico City.

The restoration was led by filmmaker María José Cuevas and features previously unseen rehearsal footage discovered during the editing process. The release date coincides with the start of Hispanic Heritage Month and marks the 10th anniversary of Juan Gabriel’s passing.

Before the nationwide U.S. release, the National Museum of Mexican Art will host a premiere at Chicago’s Jay Pritzker Pavilion on August 28. The film will also debut in theaters across Latin America and Spain on that same date.
