Juan Gabriel documentary features rare archival footage

The documentary filmJuan Gabriel, Mi Primer Bellas Artes’ has been released in Mexico, Latin America, and Spain, marking the tenth anniversary of the Mexican singer-songwriter's death. Directed by María José Cuevas, the film features previously unseen footage discovered in Juan Gabriel's personal archives, including video of his 1990 rehearsal and performance at the Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico City.

Cuevas noted that the singer maintained an extensive personal archive, which allowed for the recovery of these historical recordings. The film is also scheduled for a special screening in Chicago, United States, starting September 15. Juan Gabriel, known as the ‘Divo de Juárez’, passed away on August 28, 2016, leaving behind a career of 45 years, nearly 50 albums, and over 150 million records sold.
