Juan García wins MrBeast supermarket challenge after 202 days
Juan García, a 56-year-old Mexican national from Hidalgo residing in the United States, has emerged as one of the winners of a high-stakes challenge organized by content creator MrBeast. After spending 202 days inside a supermarket in North Carolina, García and three other finalists—Eldrin, Jackson, and Reyhan—successfully completed the challenge to split a $1 million prize.
The competition underwent significant rule changes during its duration. Originally designed as an individual endurance test where the last person to leave a store would win $250,000, the format shifted into a collaborative effort. The final four participants were tasked with consuming more than 4.3 million calories of food to prevent waste, as any discarded food would result in a dollar deduction from the total prize pool.
García, who gained significant social media attention, was noted for his resilience and adaptability. He reportedly walked over 2.7 million steps during the confinement and used various strategies, such as freezing perishable goods, to manage the food supply. Upon his release, García shared an emotional moment with his wife, fulfilling a long-held promise to buy her a wedding ring.
