Juan José delos Santos and Luciana Muñoz missing: searches continue in Uruguay and Argentina

In Paysandú, Uruguay, 54‑year‑old Juan José delos Santos Hiriart has been missing since July 1. His family, citing his long‑standing depression and previous suicide attempts, has expanded the search to several locations including Cañada del Queguay, Paso de las Piedras, Arroyo San Francisco, Arroyo Sacra and the vicinity of Young. They ask residents to look for him, especially those familiar with rivers and streams, and to report any information to police or the Ministry of the Interior’s missing‑persons portal.

In Neuquén, Argentina, the two‑year anniversary of the disappearance of 17‑year‑old Luciana Muñoz was marked by the unveiling of a mobile mural. Mother Lila Aguerre, together with artist Verónica Torosa, created the moving artwork to display Luciana’s face and a political slogan demanding answers from the government, justice system and police. The mural will travel to a permanent location on 8 August, coinciding with Luciana’s birthday, and serves as a visual protest to keep her case in the public eye.
