Puebla International Book Fair 2026 attracts 160,000 visitors

The second edition of the Puebla International Book Fair (FILIP) 2026 concluded with over 160,000 visitors. The 10-day event, supported by the Municipal Institute of Art and Culture of Puebla (IMACP), featured 130 national and international publishers and resulted in the sale of more than 152,000 copies. The fair generated a revenue of 7 million pesos, providing over 2 million pesos in gains for businesses in the Historic Center.

During the closing ceremonies at the Universidad de las Américas Puebla (UDLAP), the digital book ‘Crónica de la China Poblana’ was presented. This work, compiled by Pedro Mauro Ramos Vázquez, is part of the ‘Lecturas del Centenario’ collection edited by UNAM.

In other cultural developments, the 37th International Anthropology and History Book Fair (FILAH) in Mexico City drew 190,000 attendees over 11 days. Additionally, the National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH) reported that six exhibitions regarding Mexico's indigenous peoples have reached 3.8 million people globally across Spain, France, and China.

In Puebla, Deputy José Luis Figueroa Cortés introduced a legislative initiative to provide incentives to companies that create permanent jobs for local youth.
