Juan José Salazar Hernández resigns from Movimiento Ciudadano

Juan José Salazar Hernández, known as Juanjo, has resigned from his positions within Movimiento Ciudadano (MC). He stepped down as the Secretary of Social Management for the party's State Steering Committee and as a member of the National Coordinator led by Jorge Álvarez Maynez.

Salazar Hernández cited disagreement with decisions made during the National Assembly on August 1, 2026. Specifically, he opposes the party's stance of not forming an opposition alliance to compete against Morena in the 2027 elections. While party leadership, following instructions from founder Dante Delgado Rannauro, has maintained a policy of independence, Salazar Hernández's departure highlights internal friction regarding electoral strategies.
