Juan Manuel Rossi denies drug use allegations in Entre Ríos

Juan Manuel Rossi, a provincial deputy for Juntos por Entre Ríos, has denied allegations of drug use during a legislative session following a viral video. Rossi stated that the footage was manipulated and presented out of context to launch a “dirty campaign” against him and the provincial government. He explained that the video shows him handling a pen cap, a habit he has during long sessions.

To address the accusations, Rossi voluntarily underwent a comprehensive toxicological screening at a private laboratory. The results were negative for cocaine, amphetamines, marijuana, methadone, ecstasy, morphine, opiates, phencyclidine, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, and tricyclic antidepressants.

In response to the controversy, representatives from the Movimiento Nacional Reformista (MNR) at the Universidad Nacional de Entre Ríos expressed their embarrassment, stating they distance themselves from Rossi personally and politically, noting that his actions do not represent the Socialist Party.
