Juan Martín del Potro joins ESPN as US Open commentator
Former Argentine tennis star Juan Martín del Potro is returning to the US Open in a new capacity. The former world number three has signed a three-year contract with ESPN to serve as a commentator.
Del Potro is scheduled to make his debut in the broadcast booth next week, coinciding with the start of the tournament's main draw. The agreement includes 75 scheduled on-air appearances.
Del Potro, famously known as the ‘Torre de Tandil’, won the US Open in 2009, making him the last South American to win a Grand Slam title. His career was marked by significant physical challenges, including multiple wrist surgeries, before his competitive career concluded.
