Juan Ortega earns two ears at Almería bullfighting festival

During the Feria de la Virgen del Mar in Almería, bullfighter Juan Ortega achieved a significant victory by earning two ears (dos orejas) after a performance with the fifth bull of the afternoon. Despite the success of Ortega, the overall quality of the livestock from the Matilla ranch was described as disappointing, with some bulls being inadequate for the venue and one requiring assistance to be finished in the ring.

Other featured bullfighters included Morante de la Puebla and Pablo Aguado. The event saw a large turnout, including a notable presence of young spectators, despite earlier concerns regarding weather and drainage in the arena following morning rains. The festivities were televised by Canal Sur.
