Juan Pablo Allan faces license suspension after alcohol test in Pinamar

Juan Pablo Allan, the executive director of the National Arms Registry (RENAR) and a La Libertad Avanza councilman in La Plata, tested positive for alcohol during a routine traffic stop in Pinamar.

Authorities reported that Allan, driving a Toyota Yaris, recorded a blood alcohol concentration of 0.27 grams per liter. This measurement violates the zero-tolerance alcohol law currently enforced in the province of Buenos Aires. As a result of the infraction, Allan’s driver’s license has been suspended for 90 days.

Representatives for Allan stated that the incident occurred after he consumed alcohol and attempted to drive because his wife had become ill and was unable to operate the vehicle. The incident has drawn political attention due to Allan’s previous role as a provincial senator, during which he voted in favor of the legislation that prohibits driving with any level of alcohol in the bloodstream.
