Necaxa appoints Juan Reynoso as new head coach

Necaxa has officially appointed Peruvian manager Juan Reynoso as its new head coach for the Apertura 2026 tournament. Reynoso replaces Martín Varini, who was dismissed following a string of poor results, including a recent defeat against Puebla.

Reynoso returns to a club where he has deep historical ties, having played for Necaxa between 2002 and 2004 and served as an assistant coach from 2004 to 2006. His managerial experience in Mexico includes leading Cruz Azul to a Liga MX title in 2021 and managing Puebla. He also previously served as the head coach of the Peruvian national team.

The club aims to stabilize a team currently sitting in 13th place with eight points. Reports indicate Reynoso has signed a contract through December 2027, signaling a long-term commitment to the project. He is expected to make his debut on September 19 against Atlético de San Luis.
