Juan Rodríguez García-Lozano dies at 100 in León

Juan Rodríguez García-Lozano, the father of former Spanish Prime Minister José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, has passed away at the age of 100 in his native León.

A jurist and teacher by profession, Rodríguez García-Lozano was known for maintaining a discreet public profile despite his son’s political prominence. He was described as a cultured and reflective individual with an exceptional photographic memory.

He maintained a very close relationship with his son, who has frequently acknowledged his father’s significant influence on his personal formation and his understanding of public commitment. In his later years, he resided in a care facility and was frequently visited by his two sons, José Luis and Juan.
