Juan Sebastián de Elcano enters final maintenance phase

The Spanish Navy's training ship, Juan Sebastián de Elcano, is entering the final phase of an extensive maintenance and modernization cycle at the Navantia San Fernando shipyards. Having successfully completed its scheduled time in dry dock, the vessel is now undergoing a Programmed Immobilization Period.

These technical interventions are intended to ensure the ship's safety and operational capacity for upcoming international commitments. The maintenance work is particularly significant as the vessel prepares for its centenary celebrations and the XCIX Instruction Cruise, a traditional voyage used for the maritime and military training of future naval officers.
