Juan Ubaldo Sosa to present medical-legal book in Santo Domingo

Dr. Juan Ubaldo Sosa Almonte, a physician and lawyer, will present his new book, ‘Blindaje Médico-Legal: Tratado práctico para la prevención y gestión del riesgo médico-legal en el sistema de salud dominicano’, on November 5, 2026. The event will take place at the Colegio Médico Dominicano in Santo Domingo.

The publication serves as a practical guide for identifying and managing legal risks within the Dominican healthcare system. It covers critical topics such as medical liability, informed consent, clinical documentation, patient rights, and the management of adverse events. Additionally, the work addresses modern challenges including telemedicine and artificial intelligence.

Sosa Almonte holds a medical degree from the Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo and a law degree from the Universidad Abierta para Adultos. His professional background includes serving as the provincial health director of Monseñor Nouel and founding the legal department at the Hospital Traumatológico y Quirúrgico del Cibao Central Profesor Juan Bosch.
