Mirtha Legrand re-hospitalized at Sanatorio Mater Dei

Argentine television presenter Mirtha Legrand, 99, has been re-hospitalized at the Sanatorio Mater Dei following a respiratory relapse. This second admission occurred just five days after she was discharged on September 13 after being treated for bronchitis and a flu-like illness.

The medical report from Sanatorio Mater Dei states that Legrand was admitted through the emergency room presenting a condition “compatible with neumopatía” (lung disease). She remains hospitalized for further studies, treatment, and medical monitoring. Some reports indicate that doctors have identified a bacteria and initiated antibiotic treatment, noting a slight improvement in her general stability.

Due to her health status, Legrand will not immediately return to her television duties. Her granddaughter, Juana Viale, is scheduled to replace her as host for upcoming broadcasts. Her family has requested privacy and respect during this time, with the hospital planning to release a new medical update on Monday if there are no significant changes.
