Juancho Hernangómez extends contract with Panathinaikos AKTOR

Spanish power forward Juancho Hernangómez has committed to Panathinaikos AKTOR through 2030, following a successful first season that included winning the EuroLeague and the Greek championship.

In an interview with Radio MARCA, Hernangómez revealed that he turned down offers from other teams to pursue a long-term future in Athens. He cited the club’s winning culture, the support from fans and ownership, and the unique basketball environment as primary reasons for his decision.

Hernangómez also expressed enthusiasm regarding the return of legendary coach Zeljko Obradovic to the Panathinaikos bench. He noted that he spoke with Obradovic prior to his contract extension and is eager to learn from the six-time EuroLeague winner. He emphasized the high-pressure environment at the club, stating that the organization invests in the best players with the sole objective of winning titles rather than just reaching finals.
