Juazeiro do Norte inaugurates specialized rehabilitation center and orthopedic workshop

The municipality of Juazeiro do Norte has inaugurated the Normando Sóracles Gonçalves Damascena Specialized Rehabilitation Center (CER III) and the Engineer Roberto de Araújo Bezerra Orthopedic Workshop. Located in the Parque das Timbaúbas neighborhood, the CER III provides specialized services for physical, auditory, and intellectual disabilities, including a dedicated care line for autism.

The facility features an audiometry booth, a motor physiotherapy courtyard, and various therapies for intellectual disabilities. Additionally, the new orthopedic workshop is responsible for the manufacture, adaptation, and maintenance of orthoses, prostheses, and auxiliary mobility devices.

Local health officials and Mayor Glêdson Bezerra stated that these facilities are part of the ‘Juazeiro é + Saúde’ program, aimed at strengthening the municipal health network and providing integrated care for neurodivergent children and individuals requiring continuous specialized monitoring.
