Juazeiro do Norte LED panels ordered removed by court

The Ceará State Court accepted a public civil action filed by the Ministry of Public of Ceará and ordered the Superintendence of Public Works (SOP) to remove six LED advertising panels in Juazeiro do Norte within 15 days. The decision also targets the five companies that own the panels, citing the high luminosity and placement at major intersections and thoroughfares as a potential risk to traffic safety.

The ruling imposes a daily fine of R$ 1,000 per panel, capped at R$ 15,000, should any equipment remain in place after the deadline. The 7th Public Prosecutor's Office of Juazeiro do Norte highlighted that the panels were installed without SOP authorization and violated technical standards of the former State Roads Department.
