Juazeiro do Norte ring road final section reaches 20% completion

Construction of the sixth and final section of the Anel Viário do Cariri in Juazeiro do Norte has reached 20% completion. This final stage involves a R$ 49.5 million investment to duplicate 5.19 kilometers of the CE-060 highway.

The project connects the airport access avenue to the junction leading toward Caririaçu. Key infrastructure works include earthmoving, drainage, paving, the implementation of a bike lane, accessible walkways, and the construction of a new 80-meter bridge over the Rio Batateira. The section is expected to be completed in 2027.

Once finished, the entire ring road will consist of 22.28 kilometers of duplicated lanes. The project aims to divert heavy vehicle traffic from the center of Juazeiro do Norte, improve mobility during religious pilgrimages, and facilitate access to the Federal University of Cariri (UFCA), the local hotel district, and various neighborhoods including Lagoa Seca and Planalto.
