Juchitepec authorities ordered to ensure financial transparency

The Electoral Tribunal of the State of Mexico has ruled that Francisco Javier Rueda Vergara, the sixth councilman of the Juchitepec City Council, has the right to access specific municipal financial information.

Previously, the municipal treasury had denied Rueda Vergara’s requests for data, arguing that such information fell outside his official duties. The tribunal's determination emphasizes that council members require complete financial data to fulfill their responsibilities, which include analyzing the management of public resources and participating in discussions regarding municipal government affairs.

The ruling also requests that the municipal treasurer provide requested information to council members in a timely and complete manner, provided that requests follow established protocols.
