Additional District and Sessions Judge Ravi Kumar Diwakar has issued death sentences to 22 convicts across nine cases during his tenure in Muzaffarnagar. These rulings, categorized under the ‘rarest of rare’ doctrine, involve serious crimes including murder, robbery followed by murder, and the killing of a home guard on duty.
In Muzaffarnagar alone, the sentences were handed down between April and August 2026. Notable cases include the murder of advocate Sameer Saifi, the Shekhar murder case involving a family of four, and the killing of farmer Rajsingh.
Over his 17-year judicial career, Diwakar has sentenced a total of 35 individuals to death, including 13 during his previous posting in Bareilly. He previously gained national attention in 2022 for ordering a videographic survey of the Gyanvapi Mosque complex in Varanasi.
