Elías Barrionuevo arrested for fatal shooting of girlfriend in Ituzaingó

Elías Barrionuevo, 19, has been arrested in General Rodríguez following a fatal shooting in Ituzaingó. The incident occurred on Tuesday during a dispute between Barrionuevo and his 18-year-old girlfriend, Camila Ruth Marful Castro.

According to police reports, the confrontation was motivated by jealousy. When the victim's father, Jorge González, attempted to intervene, Barrionuevo opened fire, striking the teenager in the neck and hitting González in both legs. Castro was transported to Hospital Bicentenario, where she later died. González survived the attack and is receiving medical care.

Barrionuevo fled the scene and remained a fugitive until Wednesday, when investigators tracked him using his mobile phone. He was intercepted by the DDI Morón in a public area at the intersection of Bolivia and Mercedes streets. Additionally, two men, aged 28 and 34, were detained for allegedly providing shelter to the suspect while he was on the run. The case is being handled by prosecutor Florencia Di Sciascio.
