Judge restores home in Chalco following fatal property dispute

A judge in Texcoco has ordered the restitution of a home in the Ex Hacienda de Guadalupe housing unit, located in Chalco, Estado de México, to Mariana Santana Alfaro. The ruling follows a legal dispute over the property that resulted in a violent confrontation in 2025, leaving two men dead and a teenager injured.

Mariana Santana Alfaro, the daughter of Carlota “N”, successfully proved ownership of the residence through public deeds, noting the property was acquired via a FOVISSSTE credit in 2009. The house had been under the custody of the Fiscalía General de Justicia del Estado de México (FGJEM) since the incident.

Regarding the criminal proceedings, Víctor Eladio Torres was sentenced to six years in prison for the crime of dispossession. Other individuals, Lourdes Yhoana “N” and Héctor Esaith “N”, face charges of dispossession and residential robbery. Carlota “N”, aged 74, remains under house arrest due to health conditions while facing ongoing legal processes for homicide and attempted homicide related to the confrontation.
