Judge Yusuf Aslan Dies in Şile Drowning Accident
Yusuf Aslan, a judge and prosecutor assistant serving in Kayseri, drowned in the sea at Şile on the Turkish Black Sea coast. Despite a local ban on swimming due to strong waves and rip currents, Aslan entered the water and was swept away by the current.
Rescue teams from Şile Coast Guard and lifeguards attempted a jet‑assisted rescue, but Aslan could not be saved. His body was later recovered, taken to the forensic medicine institute for an autopsy, and his funeral arrangements were made.
Turkey's Justice Minister Akın Gürlek posted a condolence message, and fellow members of the judiciary expressed deep sorrow over the loss of a young legal professional.
