Judicial appointments announced by the Superior Council of Magistracy

The Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM) has finalized several judicial leadership appointments. In Cluj, Judge Mihaela Sărăcuț, currently the president of the Second Civil Section of the Cluj Court of Appeal, has won the competition to become the president of the Cluj Court of Appeal. She competed against Mihăiță-Lucian Marian and Delia-Ana Marusciac. Sărăcuț, a graduate of Babeș-Bolyai University with three decades of experience in the judiciary and academia, is expected to see final results confirmed on November 4, 2026.

Additionally, the CSM Judges Section approved the delegation of Alexandru Ghiciu to the position of president of the Criminal Section of the Cornetu Court with a 7 to 2 vote. Ghiciu, a former lawyer and former employee of the Foreign Intelligence Service (SIE), will assume the role on October 30, 2026. His appointment follows a period where he contested psychological testing results.
