Judicial authorities in Canary Islands and Dominican Republic launch new terms

The judicial systems in the Canary Islands and the Dominican Republic have marked the start of new judicial cycles with focuses on modernization and professional training.

In the Canary Islands, the High Court of Justice (TSJC) held its opening ceremony for the 2026-2027 judicial year. President Juan Avello Formoso highlighted the completion of the implementation of instance courts as a major milestone for 2025, aimed at improving efficiency and proximity to citizens. The ceremony also recognized the contributions of retired magistrates for the first time.

In the Dominican Republic, the National School of the Judiciary (ENJ) launched the 2-2026 training program for judicial aspirants. Supreme Court President Henry Molina presided over the induction of 25 participants, 68% of whom are women. The program is designed to strengthen legal knowledge and ensure judicial independence and integrity among future judges.
