Judicial authorities in Honduras and Ecuador implement new legal protections

In Honduras, the Supreme Court of Justice (CSJ) is designing strategies to establish a specialized circuit to handle judicial actions resulting from new measures against organized crime. CSJ President Wagner Vallecillo stated that the judiciary will provide necessary support to security institutions and is preparing for upcoming reforms. Additionally, a criminal technical agency will be created to serve as a link between investigative institutions and the National Council for Defense and Security (CNDS).

In Ecuador, the Judiciary Council in Zamora Chinchipe has activated two inter-institutional technical tables to strengthen protection for victims of violence. The Justice and Gender Technical Table aims to improve responses to violence against women through institutional training and specialized healthcare management. Simultaneously, a technical table for children and adolescents has been established to improve institutional responses to rights violations and coordinate better with educational institutions.
