Judicial authorities meet to discuss victim assistance and prisoner reintegration

In Argentina, the XV National Conference of Crime Victim Assistance Offices was held in Córdoba. The event brought together national and provincial authorities, judicial representatives, and academics to strengthen support policies for crime victims. The conference coincided with the 40th anniversary of Córdoba’s Crime Victim Assistance Center. Minister of Justice and Labor Julián López emphasized that the state's responsibility includes providing professional and integral care to citizens during moments of vulnerability.

In Spain, the Proyecto Hombre Granada organized a conference at the University of Granada titled ‘Punish or Integrate’. The meeting focused on addiction treatment, dual pathology, and the social reintegration of incarcerated individuals. Experts discussed the importance of alliances between public institutions and social entities to create sustainable reintegration paths. Data presented indicated that 80% of inmates in Spain do not reoffend, with recidivism rates dropping by 50% over the last 12 years.
