Judicial courts in Vigo and Ponteareas manage high financial flows and staffing concerns
The judicial system in the Vigo area is managing significant financial flows and facing operational challenges. In Vigo, the Court of First Instance processes an average of 88,112 euros daily through judicial deposit and consignment accounts. During the first half of the year, the court issued 24,274 transfer or return orders totaling 15,860,251 euros. The civil section accounted for 61% of this volume, totaling approximately 9.7 million euros, primarily involving payments to creditors following court rulings.
Meanwhile, the Court of First Instance in Ponteareas is facing scrutiny due to reported judicial overload. The CIG union has filed complaints regarding excessive workloads, staffing shortages, and a deteriorating work environment, noting that some staff members are working twelve-hour shifts. The union has requested a psychosocial report from the Safety and Health Committee, which remains pending. While the Consellería de Xustiza maintains that the Ponteareas court has a full staff without leaves, the General Council of the Judiciary is scheduled to conduct an inspection of the tribunal on September 23 to review its status.
